NFL Week 17: Indianapolis Colts (2-13) At Jacksonville Jaguars (4-11)- Open Thread

Game Date/Time: Sunday, Dec. 18; 1 p.m. ET

Location: Alltel Stadium, Jacksonville, Fla.

TV Schedule
Local: Fox

Announcers: Spero Dedes, Steve Beuerlein

TV Distribution Map: The506.com

Inactives for the last game of the 2011 season include Peyton Manning, Anthony Gonzalez, A.J. Edds, Joe Reitz, Quan Cosby, Mario Addison, and Mike Holmes. Gonzalez is a healthy scratch in what is likely his last game with the Colts, the team that drafted him in 2007. According to the Indianapolis Star's Phil Wilson, the reason for the scratch is a dispute between Gonzo and Bill Polian.

Again, anyone who thinks Jim Caldwell controls who starts and who doesn't on his team is someone who doesn't know the Colts.

I would have liked to see Gonzo play today. Hopefully, he can continue his NFL career.

This is your open thread for today's game. Enjoy.

NFL Week 16: Houston Texans (9-4) At Indianapolis Colts (1-13)- Open Thread

Dallas Clark and Philip Wheeler are listed as OUT for tonight's game. Also, in a rather curious move, Antonio Johnson has been benched in favor of Tyler Brayton. This is odd considering that Bill Polian said just two days ago that the Titans game this past Sunday was the best game Johnson has played in a Colts uniform.

Also, prior to the game, Jim Irsay told NFL Network that if Peyton Manning is healthy, 'I see him coming back and playing here.' Irsay also said the Colt would not hesitate to take a young QB in the 2012 NFL Draft.

This is your open thread for tonight's game. Enjoy.

2011 NFL Week 8: Indianapolis Colts (0-7) At Tennessee Titans (3-3)- Open Thread

Happy Halloween! (Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)

Colts inactives for today include Anthony Gonzalez, Jacob Lacey, Anthony Castonzo, Ryan Diem, Joe Reitz, Drake Nevis, and Peyton Manning.

Very interesting tweet just a few moments ago from Indianapolis Star writer Phil Wilson regarding why Gonzo is not even active today:

Not trying to be Gonzo apologist, but this is what happens to #Colts who speak their minds. Bill Polian doesn't care for guys who do. Tryon?

You all might recall that Gonzo all but called Jim Caldwell a liar last year for how the 'competition' for the starting WR spot was handled during the 2010 training camp. Gonzo was also chatty about the subject of HGH use in the NFL prior to the start of this season. Maybe that, and Gonzo's recent chat with the Indy Star's Mike Chappell where Gonzo expressed 'frustration' with not being allowed on the field (he's been a health scratch for three games leading up to today), got on the bad side of the Polian Family.

As with Justin Tryon, Wilson provides another example of how Caldwell is not the one setting his active lineups. Bill Polian apparently is. Perhaps another Bill Polian roster decision: Delone Carter will start at RB for Indy today while Kevin Thomas is starting a CB for Lacey.

This is your open thread for today's game. Enjoy. Maybe they can scratch out a win.

2011 NFL Week 7: Indianapolis Colts (0-6) At New Orleans Saints (4-2)- Open Thread

Game Date/Time: Sunday, October 23rd; 8:20 p.m.

Location: Louisiana Super Dome; New Orleans, LA

TV Schedule
NBC

Radio Schedule
Colts: WFNI ESPN 1070 AM

Well, it seems like Joseph Addai is good to go tonight for the Colts, which is a bit of welcome news for a team starting Kevin Thomas at corner tonight purely out of desperation. Yes, you read that right. Kevin Thomas will start his first game tonight after weeks of being deactivated.

Don't ask me who makes the active roster decisions, or why. Deactivated to starting. Against the Saints. In New Orleans. Ugh.

Scratched for tonight's game are Drake Nevis, Anthony Castonzo, Ryan Diem, A.J. Edds, Anthony Gonzalez, and Peyton Manning. Gonzo is a healthy scratch. Again. Scratch that. Gonzo got hurt in practice last week. Groin. Glass Gonzo strikes again.

Seriously, it's neat that Thomas gets to play, and maybe we can see some more progress from Curtis Painter. I just don't get how a guy can go from deactivated to starting where the circumstances don't have anything to do with injury. I guess they're just throwing dudes out there to see if they can play.

This is your open thread. Enjoy.

Joseph Addai, Drake Nevis, and Anthony Castonzo did not make the trip with the team down I-74 from Indianapolis. Looks like Jeff Linkenback will start at left tackle, and we're sure to get re-acquainted with Dan Muir, who was cut during the off-season but re-signed last week.

Curtis Painter will once again start at quarterback.

This is your open thread for today's game. Enjoy.

Before we start, not only is Hank Williams Jr. both an idiot and a loudmouthed schmuck, but the man looks like someone glued a dead chipmunk to his face.

That's said, here's some video of Williams this morning on FOX News calling Barack Obama 'Hitler.'

As a result of these comments, we fans will not be tortured tonight with Williams' obnoxious 'ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL' thing that he does before every. single. Monday. night. game. every. week. It's unfortunate that it took something like this to finally get this screeching fool from annoying me every single time I try to watch Monday Night Football, but hey, I'll take it.

inactives: Kerry Collins, Anthony Gonzalez, Peyton Manning, Kevin Thomas, Ernie Sims, Ryan Diem, and Fili Moala. According to the Indy Star's Phil Wilson, Gonzo's scratch is a healthy one.

This means the Colts effectively told their former starting WR, 'Hey Gonzo! Yeah, you suck. Wear street clothes on the sideline tonight, and try not to get hurt.'

Mike Pollak starts at RG tonight, while Joe Reitz remains at LG. Blair White will return punts.

Also, the signed OT Mike Tepper from practice squad and waived DB Jermale Hines. Hines was the guy the team cut Justin Tryon for.

This is your open thread for the first start of Curtis Painter's career. Enjoy. Go Colts. Go Curtis.
