Stampede Blue Playoff FFL Final Results
I apologize for not getting the results out after the Conference Championship games, as we were busy with Peyton Manning news and the Super Bowl, and we're now finally starting to wind down before ramping up the draft coverage. Either way, I've got the final standings for the Playoff Fantasy Football Challenge.
First off I'll recognize the winner of the Championship round, which was BurbsST, who had 166 points in the two games, and impressive day. For the Super Bowl, the winner was oo9ers, who had 96 points, thanks to three different guys scoring over 20 points for him/her. And our overall winner is BurbsST, who finished with 773 points, a number way, way higher than a year ago, when the winner had just 525 points. It was a much higher scoring playoff season this year, which makes it a little more fun. The total actually beat the best possible team last year, which was only 756.
The best two players ended up on only 55 combined teams, as Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning had the most points with 101 points, and Hakeem Nicks, who was only on 12 teams, had 94. Tom Brady came in a respectable third.
After the jump you'll see the best possible team and full standings. You can see your individual team here (in alphabetical order). Again, if you see a mistake, please let me know. Thanks again to everyone for playing!
Stampede Blue Playoff FFL Results - Divisional Round
I finally got a chance to get the Playoff Fantasy Football stats updated after a couple of crazy days around here. I apologize to anyone that's been waiting for these. This week we had a couple of huge scorers, most notably that QB in New England and his tight end. Four of the eight QBs this weekend had 35 or more points, which are huge fantasy days, so if you didn't have at least two of those guys, you're way behind.
The winners for the Divisional Round were ndirishfan1083 and BurbsST, who each had 374 points this weekend, a huge week that was 90% of what the best team scored, so an excellent week for both of them. ndirishfan1083 also took the overall lead, but BurbsST has the maximum players left, so he/she is in really good position.
After the jump you'll see the best possible team so far, as well as the complete standings. You can see your individual team here (in alphabetical order). Again, if you see a mistake, please let me know.
Stampede Blue Playoff FFL Results - Wild Card Round
I'd like to thank everyone who participated this year in the Stampede Blue Playoff Fantasy Football Challenge, as we had a total of 167 entries this season, a bit down from last year, but that was expected with the Colts not playing this year. I would like to thank everyone for following the rules, as for the first time I didn't have to discount any entries because of too many players at a position, or too many players on one team. It's greatly appreciated, and let me get this out quicker than in year's past.
After the Wild Card Round, our leader is New Era Colts, who had a total of 250 points, five points ahead of second place Guy LeDouche. This weekend was much higher scoring than Wild Card weekend last year, as several players had higher scores than last year's leader, Matt Hasselbeck, who had 32. They were led by Calvin Johnson, who had a whopping 45 points, definitely worth picking him even if it was for just one game. Interesting that nobody went the route of picking all players who played last weekend, as somebody has each of the previous three years.
After the jump you'll see the most popular team chosen, as well as complete standings for everyone...
2011 NFL Playoffs: Stampede Blue Fantasy Football Challenge
For our fourth straight season, we'll once again be running our Stampede Blue Playoff Fantasy Football Challenge. We've continually grown each year, and expect this year to be the same.
Some rules for you: For the contest, you take 3 QBs, 4 RBs, 5 WRs, 2 TE, 2 K, and 2 DEF. You'll keep these players for the entire duration of the Playoffs. There is no re-choosing after each weekend. That makes it much more difficult to choose players, as some obviously don't play until next weekend. I'll repeat so it's clear: You are choosing players for the entire duration of the Playoffs. There will be no chance to re-choose after the first game starts.
The other catch is that you can only choose 3 players from any given team. That means, if you think the Packers will win the Super Bowl, you can't take every Packers player, going for broke. It makes you choose different teams.
Like last year, I have put in some checks for the position and team rules, so you won't be able to choose 7 Packers. I'm going to trust I've coded it up right, but you should double check before submitting, so that if something does slip through, I don't have to disqualify the entry. Along these lines, if you use "NoScript" on Firefox, enable the scripting for the linked page. Otherwise, the checks won't work. Please check your team before you submit. I'm not responsible if there are technical issues and I have to disqualify your entry.
To get more entries, feel free to submit up to 3 different teams. Be sure to label them as "1", "2", and "3" if you do (mine would be "mgrex03 1", "mgrex03 2", "mgrex03 3"). The first Playoff game starts at 4:30 ET Saturday, so all entries need to be in by then, and no submissions after that will be accepted. I'll throw up a couple of reminders throughout the week, so that the most people get involved. I'll update standings after each weekend, complete with how many players everyone has left. You can see your picks here, so you know who you picked. Any other questions, shoot me an email (bottom of page).
Scoring is after the jump.
Good Luck to Everyone!
Week 15 Stampede Blue Fantasy/Picks Update
In the Straight Up contest this week, TeBlows! (tell us how you really feel) led the way with 13 correct. It was a tough week overall with readers only getting 55% of the games correct. EVERYONE missed the Packers first loss of the season with 25% of readers getting the Colts win correct (congrats on keeping the faith!). Only one reader (Statistical Anomaly) got the Redskins win over Giants. Peytonsforehead has opened up a 3 game lead overall with 155 total correct.
Against the Spread saw readers get less than 50% correct for the week. This week we had two winners as Jayhawks and GString got 11 correct each. 96% of readers gots the Saints cover correct making it the easiest to get correct this week. More folk had faith in the Colts with the number than them winning. 50% of readers took the cover with the points. Overall leaderboard shows 15 readers picking at 500 or better on the season with Spread Eagles leading the way with 121 correct. Spread Eagles and The Lawn Wrangler have made it somewhat of a 2 team race by opening up a 4 game lead over 3rd place.

Week 14 Stampede Blue Fantasy/Picks Update
In the Straight Up contest this week we had a couple of readers go crazy with correct picks. ROC 2 TRE and peytonsforehead both got 15 out 16 games correct. Both of these readers missed a game that EVERYONE missed. The 49ers loss to the Cardinals was missed by every reader. To balance that out every reader got the Packers, Jets and the Lions games correct. Also above 90% correct were wins by the Steelers, Saints, Patriots, Ravens, Tebows Broncos and Seahawks. Overall, readers got 75% of games correct. IN the overall standings, peytonsforehead leads all readers with a 146-62 record.
Readers also had a decent week Against the Spread. As a group we got 57% of the games correct. Pretty good! Tops this week was Cabo Diablo and mgrex03 who both got 12 out of 16 correct. Again, people cleaned up on the Seahawks, Lions and Saints games as over 90% of reads got those games correct. Readers missed the Redskins and Cardinals plus the points most often with only about 15% of those games correct. Overall leader is Spread Eagles at 114-86. Just to show how tough picking against the spread is, there have been 200 games that didn't push so far this year. There are only 15 readers who are better than 500 on the year.

Week 12 Stampede Blue Fantasy/Picks Update
I know I missed a couple weeks with updates here and I apologize for that. What can I say; family holidays and my wife being sick because she is expecting have just killed all my free time. Anyway, on to the week that was in the picks and fantasy world.
Straight Up this week only 4 underdogs won out of 16 games. Closest to the lowest percentage of underdogs winning we've had all year. Overall, Stampede readers did well straight up getting 70% of the game correct. Leading the way was tressels blue sweater vest who got 14 of 16 correct only missing the Cardinals and the Redskins. Those two games were the two hardest to get correct at only 32% and 23% correct respectively. Overall standings show G-String holding a one game lead over actorscott and peytonsforehead with a 121-55 record.
Against the Spread, Vegas hit it right on the money with Favorites and Underdogs splitting the week at 8-8. Readers lost money again only getting 44% of the games correct. Only 13% of readers thought that the Chiefs would cover against the Steelers, making it the hardest game to get correct. A side note, two site editors got hammered this week against the spread as myself and mgrex only got 5 out of 16 games correct. Tough week for us! Best this week was Flying Guillotines with 12 of 16. Overall leader is split between Mr. Indianapolis Colts and Spread Eagles with 94 correct picks. Just to show how tough this is, only the top 10 submitters are above .500 on the year.

Week 9 Stampede Blue Fantasy/Picks Update
Don't forget that games start on Thursday. Check your lineups and submit at least the Thursday game on Yahoo!
Straight Up this week SirSci's Selections led the way with 12 out of 14 correct. Pretty good for a week where readers as a whole only got 56% of games correct. There were 5 games that had less that 30% correct. There were also 3 games above 90%. This was even with every submitter getting the Cowboys game correct. Overall, Three King Duck and G-String hold a one game lead with 90 out of 130 correct.
Against the Spread the winner this week got the same total as the Straight Up contest. Colteyes got 12 out of 14 leading 3 others with 10 or more games correct. In what I see as a strange twist, readers got the same 56% of the games correct against the spread. Easiest game to get correct was the Bengals over the Titans. 84% of readers got that right. Overall, Lord Help Our Colts holds a one game lead with 72 of 124 correct.
