New SB Nation site

Welcome Battle Red Blog: SB Nation's Houston Texans Blog

Battle Red Blog
I am very, very happy to announce that the AFC South is now fully covered by SB Nation. With the addition of our newest blog, Battle Red Blog, the AFC South is the first NFL division to be fully covered by SB Nation.

Not the NFC East, which had 3 playoff teams this year.

Not the AFC West, which is historically strong.

Not the NFC North, which has some of our best writers.

No, the AFC South.

It is fitting that our division be the first one completed. Guys like RiverCityRage at Big Cat Country and Jimmy over at Music City Miracles have been writing great stuff all year. Battle Red Blog will cover the Houston Texans, who beat the Colts for the first time in their history this year. Scott and Tim will blog for SB Nation over there. Please head over there, create an account, and welcome them.

Happy Halloween... Welcome Silver and Black Pride

Silver and Black Pride
It is only fitting that on Halloween we at SB Nation get to welcome our newest football blogger. Please welcome saint, who will blog the Oakland Raiders over at Silver and Black Pride.

This newest addition to the SB Nation family has made Chris at Arrowhead Pride and TheSportsGuru at Mile High Report extremely happy. However, WCG and the Bears fans at Windy City Gridiron still wait for their long awaited Green Bay Packers blog.

Welcome Raiders fans, and welcome saint to SB Nation. And Happy Halloween everyone. Try not to eat too much candy. If you are in NY this Halloween, the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade is the best. You'll see some crazy stuff down there. I believe they still have that seven foot long giant puppet spider crawling down the side of that church on 6th Ave.

More football blogs!

Folks, I am very, very excited about two new football sites added to the SB Nation family.

The first is The Falcoholic, a blog dedicated to those binge drinking Falcons fans down in Hotlanta. I now must watch myself a bit when I bash Michael Vick. Dave the Falconer is blogging over there. Please stop by and welcome him. As a side note: FINALLY, the NFC South is represented at SB Nation!

The next blog is a wonderful, wonderful idea sprung out of an interesting article in the Washington Times. Please welcome The Football Monologues. What is The Football Monologues? Well, futbolgoddess explains it best:

The goal of The Monologues is to educate, unite, and entertain women across America. Football has become the favorite sport of women to watch on TV and I am here to welcome this new wave of football fans with open arms.

A blog like this is a great idea that is long overdue. Please welcome futbolgoddess and the lovely ladies of The Football Monolgues.

Small side not (and a brief peak inside my personal life): my girlfriend hates football. Despises it. Makes fun of it whenever she can. On Sunday, I sit on the couch, after I do all my chores, and I watch. She walks in, looks at the TV, and says, "God, this is boring. Has hockey started yet?"

Yes, she thinks hockey is more exciting than football. I know, it's crazy. She's from Michigan. It's what they do up there. All that ice. All that cold. It must numb their brains or something. That's the only reason I can think to have someone actually tell me with a straight face that hockey is more exciting than football.

Craziness I tell you. Craziness. Oh, and this blog entry will get me in trouble. Something tells me I will get to enjoy the firm comfort of the couch tonight. Oh well.

TOMORROW IS FOOTBALL!

Bleeding Green All Over the Place

Bleeding Green Nation

And yet another football blog is added to the mix. Please welcome Bleeding Green Nation, a blog dedicated to those blitz-crazy birds from Philadelphia: The Eagles. Bleed Green is the head writer over there, and I always enjoyed his writing at his old Eagles site (webleedgreen.blogspot.com). Bleeding Green Nation is an excellent addition to our football blogging family.

SB Nation Titans Blog: Music City Miracles

Seems only fitting that one day before our showdown with a division rival the folks at SB Nation decides to add another AFC South blog into our little family.

Please welcome Jimmy who will blog the Tennessee Titans at Music City Miracles.

It really wasn't that long ago when the Titans used to OWN the Colts. Sadly, the rivalry between Tennessee and Indy has died down a bit. The Titans are rebuilding, now firmly in the Vince Young era. Vince Young better be good because he's replacing a great QB in Steve McNair.

With Jimmy now in the fold, and with Big Cat Country gearing up for the Colts/Jags showdown, all we need now is a Houston Texans blogger and the AFC South is complete. I remember talking with WCG over at our Bears blog, and I said SB Nation would probably complete the NFC North or AFC North divisions before I got any bloggers in the AFC South.

I am so very glad I was wrong. Welcome to SB Nation, Jimmy.

Here kitty, kitty, kitty...

Colts fans, it has arrived. SB Nation has a Pats blog, a Steelers blog (where they just LOVE me), and a Broncos blog. Now, while the Colts have strong rivalries with the teams those blogs cover (especially those damn Patriots) we have not had an AFC South division team blogged...

... until now.

Please welcome River City Rage and his blog Big Cat Country to SB Nation! BCC will cover those funny looking, spotted kitty-cats from Florida, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

You all remember them, right? The team that said they were going to sweep us last year, shut us out, and humiliate us. This year, they don't seem as vocal. I guess getting kicked in the face twice last year will often humble a loud-mouthed team.

Even though the Jags have many punks on their roster, and a coach so out-of-control his antics have cost the team wins, they do have a talented club. The Jags are viewed by many as the team with the best chance to unseat the Colts in the AFC South.

Despite my loathing of those funny looking kitty cats from Florida, the team could not get a better blogger than River City Rage. We all know him here at Stamp Blue as absurdpolitik. His diaries are still available to the right, along the side bar. absurdpolitik's work was so good it caught the eye of the SB Nation admins, and they asked him to blog for the Jaguars. We'll miss his regular posting here, but we'll certainly enjoy reading his stuff over at the Jags blog.

Again, like with Skin Patrol (who now blogs the Redskins at Hogs Haven) and now absurdpolitik (aka River City Rage), if you post regularly on a site you might just get your own blog. All SB Nation football sites are open to anything NFL related.

If you are not a Colts fan, it's cool. Make an account and tell me why your team is so good. Accounts take three seconds to make, and only require an email. No money. No address. No urine sample. Just a generic email. If your team isn't covered yet by SB Nation, then make an account and talk about them here. I watched the Dolphins and the Panthers play a few nights ago. Both look good, and it is amazing how fast Culpepper has recovered.

Welcome Big Cat Country to the SB Nation family!

Broncos in town

SB Nation continues to expand. We added a Chiefs blog a few weeks ago, and now we have added one for those Orange Crush Broncos. Please welcome TheSportsGuru, who will blog the Denver Broncos at Mile High Report. Please stop by the blog, welcome him, and ask him how Mike Shanahan keeps his teeth so white and sparkly.

Welcome to the Nation, TheSportsGuru.
