No structural damage for Tynes

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - New York Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes underwent an exploratory arthroscopic procedure on his left knee Friday.
The results revealed no structural damage, but Tynes will continue a rehab program to treat the soreness in his plant knee. He has been sidelined for about two weeks since injuring his knee during a kick in training camp.
Tynes kicked the Giants into the Super Bowl last January with a 47-yard overtime field goal to beat Green Bay in the NFC Championship Game on a frigid night at Lambeau Field. He was nearly the goat of the contest, missing a pair of shorter kicks in the fourth quarter of New York's 23-20 victory.
In the Super Bowl XLII victory over New England, Tynes gave New York its first points with a 32-yard field goal in the first quarter.
Tynes finished with 109 points in his first season with the Giants. He made 23-of-27 field goal tries and missed two of his 42 point-after attempts during the regular season.
The Giants acquired Tynes from the Kansas City Chiefs in a trade for future considerations prior to the 2007 season after Jay Feely left as a free agent to sign with Miami.
Feely is a free agent again after the Dolphins released him last week.
Josh Huston kicked for the Giants in Monday's preseason game against Cleveland and will do so again Saturday against the Jets.
