Giants' Umenyiora leaves game

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora injured his left knee and was carted off the field in the second quarter of Saturday's preseason game against the New York Jets.
The injury occurred with 10:48 left in the stanza following an incomplete pass by Brett Favre on third down. Umenyiora was taken for x-rays and the extent of the injury was not immediately known.
Umenyiora started all 16 games last season for the Giants and earned his second Pro Bowl selection after totaling 52 tackles along with a team-high 13 sacks.
