Knoxville, TN (Sports Network) - University of Tennessee defensive back Brent Vinson and defensive tackle Donald Langley have reportedly been suspended for the team's first game of the season.
According to a report Monday from the Knoxville News-Sentinel, the players violated Tennessee's class attendance policy last semester. The school's head coach, Phillip Fulmer, announced after practice Monday that Vinson and Langley would not travel to UCLA for the September 1 season opener.
Fulmer, however, said the players would be eligible for the Volunteers' game against University of Alabama-Birmingham on September 13.
Vinson, a sophomore, played in 14 games (10 starts) last season and was second on the team with eight passes defended. Langley redshirted last season.
