Around SBN: Leandro Damiao Is Still Really Good

Mini-vacation

Well, I'm off camping for a few days over Labor Day weekend, but don't worry. A gameday thread will be there for the Colts v. Bengals game. Plus, MasterRWayne will post some things.

Have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day.

Vinatieri
Where's the Vinatieri news/debate?
A hot media issue about the mystery of his injury .... nothing on this blog.

re: injuries
Just to let you know, I don't really get into the whole "is he hurt of isn't he" type of stuff here. If a player, like Vinatieri, is officially reported to have a broken foot, I'll write about it. However, if some boob lke Adam Sheftler (from the NFL NEtwork) claims Vinatieri has a broken foot, but doesn't have any proof to back it up, I avoid that stuff.

And as the article states, Vinatieri has a strained ligament, not a broken anything. He's expected to play in the season opener.

Now, if he DOESN'T, that's news. I feel fine about Andrus holding the fort, but I want Adam V back ASAP.

Thanks for the aticle, MadtownColtsFan.

not just a rumor
I agree on the hurt/not hurt ... but this one rises above some rumor since  his mom says his ankle is broken:

Vinatieri has missed most of preseason with an ankle injury -- his mother said Thursday it's a broken bone, while the Colts maintained it's a sprained ligament.

broken bone
Vinatieri (ankle) has a sprained ligament and a bone chip in his non-kicking leg.

So the rumors were semi-true. This looks like the kind of injury that won't keep him out but could linger and hinder him for six weeks or so.
