Of course... it's the Patriots

New England defeated the #1 team in the NFL, the Chargers in San Diego. This means they will come to Indianapolis to face the Colts for the AFC Championship and the right to play in Super Bowl 41.

As fans, we knew this was coming. We knew New England and Indy were going to meet again this year. This is great for football, great for the two teams, and great for us fans. Relish this! This is what the playoffs are all about!

Go Colts!

meeting the pats
well it has happened, we finally get the pats in the dome for a playoff game  -first time they have been in the dome is 2003 despite all our meetings.

did anyone else notice that we were the only team that didn't win by a last minute field goal... and the only team that won by more than 3?  even if we didn't blow them out, we took the lead and stayed there against a very good defense.

for these two teams, even though they weren't the top seeds, they probably are the better teams.  chargers and ravens both would have played easier schedules since they weren't playoff teams, so they had slightly better records to get the byes, but in the end the better teams won.  and the better quarterbacks.   manning (and yes brady) might make mistakes but they make up for it with great plays later on.

I don't suppose either the Colts or Pats
will just decide to drop out of this game?  I really don't know if I can handle another Manning vs. Brady a thon on ESPN.

Is this right?
I quickly looked back through the past few years - 2002 to the present, and Indy has played in Foxboro 5 times (with a record of 2-3) while New England has only played in Indy once during the same period? (The McGinest fake injury game in '03). Am I missing something or does New England really just never come to Indy?

that's right.
that's exactly right. As CJ on Charlie Weis Ate My Baby (shameless plug shameless plug) said, maybe Colts fans should email Mapquest directions to the RCA Dome to the Patriots office.

You didn't miss anything...
they haven't had to come here for awhile, we have traveled to play them.
Go Colts!

Oh well...
They're coming here Sunday, and they're already on our home schedule for next year.
