What others are saying about us

Deadspin has a link to Stampede Blue on their mainpage, with the following:

What they're saying in Blogopolis after Sunday's AFC championship game (predictably, Stampede Blue has wasted no time going to the Karate Kid photos)...

* Stampede Blue. Belichick defeated. In his post-game interview, he looked like he was gonna burst out in tears .... he reeeealy didn't wanta be there.

Sorry Deadspin, but had you actually covered the Colts with an inkling of objectivity (and not like a bunch of brain-dead, flesh-eating, Manning-haters), we would not have felt the urge to compare The Karate Kid to the Colts's win over the hatred Kobrakai of the NFL (the New England Patriots). And just like before Deadspin, when you picked the Chiefs and the Ravens to win because you were just "sick of the Colts," just like before Deadspin, you can all:

Oh, and thank you for linking to us. We've shattered records today for number of hits and page visits. If the site goes down folks, it's because everyone wants to read us and listen to us make fun of all the idiots that dared doubt Peyton Manning and the Colts. Go Colts!

I'm not a colts or pats fan...
but I heartily congratulate manning and the colts. IN my book, the headline should read "Manning Wins". He was clearly the engine beind the comeback and outplayed Brady(it wasnt even close). He showed heart, talent and resilience. However, Big blue shithead, err.. shoe,  you seem to me to be the epitome of a sore winner (and, in years past, in all liklihood, a sore loser). YOU WON!! Just enjoy it. There's no reason to lambaste others just because they didnt pick your team to win. You probably dont recall, but I criticized you last week for spewing bile and vitriol at some pats partisan, while calling on posters to engage in civil discourse. What hypocrisy. It is exactly this attitude of self-martyrdom and adoption of the mantle of victimhood that turns many people off to the colts and their fans. While people may be tired of the Patriots (myself included) because they've won a lot, people are also sick of the colts because of this penchant for whining by the organization and its fans. When you lose you're upset because nobody gives you the credit you deserve; when yu win youre upset that everbody didnt pick you to win

oh shut up mento. we've had YEARS of being subjected to Manning hating, saying the Colts can win a big game, Dungry can't win a big game, Manning can't win a big game, etc etc etc.

Give us our moment. If it means some vitrol and some rubbing it in the faces of idiot pundits and Massholes, so be it.  Colts fans deserve to rub it in the faces of some of these so called pundits for once.  it's not like they never rubbed it in our faces in years past.

As an Eagles fan
We have been subjected to the same thing. Let me let you in on something. Dungy and Manning won't have shaken that stigma unless they win the superbowl.

Unless you win the superbowl, the definition of what winning "the big game" will always change. McNabb was the QB who couldn't win the big game when he lost in 3 NFC title games. Then he won it, but he's still the "QB who can't win the big game" because he hasn't won the superbowl.

Really?
Because I have not heard about McNabb, since he took the Eagles to the SB.

did it ever occur to you guys
that the criticism of your team in years past was based on fact; that for a number of years, stellar performances in the regular season were follwed up by abominable performances in the postseason. I'm not just talking about games vs the pats or steelers. How about that 41-0 shellacking by the jets who were not exactly a juggeernaut. Manning played like shit in that gameand he was justifiably excoriated. Yesterday, he put the team on his back and played in a manner that is evoking, among media members, comparisons to monatna's game vs the cowboys in '81. HOw do you people not understand this concept: when you play well and win, you are lauded and canonized;when you play poorly and lose, you are criticized. Trying to rub peoples' nose in shit is the epitome of classlessness. And then you wonder why people dont like your team.

People LOVE our team
And, Peyton didn't do anything special. He just played "Peytonesque." But by humanly standards, "Peytonesque" is SB worthy.

yeah, because no one has ever done the same to us. It's just Colts fans who ever rub victories in the face of the defeated. I've never heard of a sports fan of ANY team doing that, and certainly not Pats fans! They are the epitome of class!

If you believed that last paragraph, you can seriously go away now. Seriously.

mento, what compels you to come to a fan blog and try and lay down the law? the colts aren't even your team; you don't even care about the pats.  what's the deal here? you sound like you need a weekend at the yoga spa and maybe something nice and slow to drink to mellow you out.  either that you are really kravitz trying to get some revenge incognito.

Glad to see the fires are stoked...
over there in "circle-jerk city". What compels me to come here is that I'm a sports fan, and I call it like I see it. I'm not a manning-hater. Read the first part of my first comment. On the other hand, I don't suck his dick like you mealy-mouthed, slack-jawed, mentally-deficient low-lifes. ANd, oh yeah, GO BEARS!!!!!!

But in all seriousness, I probably make more money a year than you, have a more beautiful female companion, and last but not least, MY TEAM IS GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL FAGGOT. Now plz plz plz gtfo

Classy
Using hateful language to make your point is a -great- idea.

beautiful female companion?
Is that your new euphamism for ol' Bessie from the barn. I understand beastiality is a fact of life in Indiana, but shouldnt the term "female companion" be reserved for consensual relations...between humans? But i bet Bessie appreciates that bigger penis of yours;just make sure she doesnt catch you plying that big penis  with Wilbur in the sty. King Richard, you seem like a fellow determined to find his queen, even if it takes you to the fringes of the animal kingdom.

mento...go troll elsewhere.
seriously, you sound ridiculous.  i'm sure you have better things to do with your time...or maybe not.  there are plenty of fans from other teams who come here and talk sports (jason from bgn, chad from wcg, inbradywestrust) and are insightful and critical.  you're starting to sound like the bill o'reilly of the sports-blog world: you know, all antagonism and no facts.

here's a fact for you: peyton manning is taking the colts to the super bowl.

by tenyardfight on Jan 23, 2007 11:23 AM EST reply actions

Mento..... what the hell?
What is your problem. Go to Windy City Gridiron and see if Chad isn't taking to task all of the "experts" that picked against the Bears. It's only natural. Go ahead and look.

What amazes me is that for coming in all holier than thou and preaching to BBS about how to run his blog, you've turned into the pathetic human being that you truly are. Stop being a hypocrite.
