Thoughts on other playoff games

Folks here have been giving Terry a hard time for Tony Romo and the Cowboys choking away their playoff game against the Seahwaks. In Romo's defense, the Boys would not have made the post-season without him. However, unlike Cowboys fans, I think some of us here saw Romo for what he is: a good but inexperienced young QB. Cowboys fans were hoping he was Tom Brady. They liked his cocky attitude and smug expressions. However, when he botched that snap, it made him... GASP... human. I personally think it will make him a better player. Humility is something Romo lacked. Now he has a little of it, and it should make him better. If it doesn't, he's a punk and the Cowboys should dumb him. All this said, the Cowboys have some good young players and Parcells has built a good system. So chin up Terry.
The Patriots beat the Jets in Foxboro despite some big plays by the Jets. Belichick attacking that cameraman at the end of the game was hilarious. His hugging Mangini had all the warmth of a cold shower.
The Giants against the Eagles was a great game. Eli Manning played well in the fourth quarter, only to have his defense lose the game for him... again. Tom Coughlin stinks, and hopefully he gets fired. Andy Reid has proven, to me, he's a top 5 coach. His Eagles are, in my opinion, less talented than the Giants but he got them to play together. Tiki Barber is a Hall of Famer in my opinion. If Joe Namath is a Hall of Famer (more career INTs than TDs), Tiki Barber is.

Magnified

Romo's botched snap was magnified, and everyone is taking away the heat from Terry Glenn fumbling in the endzone leading to a safety and more points on the board. That was huge. Every play in a football game is important, unfortunately for Romo everyone will remember the last one.

I will celebrate his shortcomings for a few months.

Oh, and all this talk of homo having more SB victories at the end of his career than Mr. Manning, at least Mr. Manning didn't lose a game for the Colts, all on his own.

You blame NY Giants Defense...

I don't. They played a long, good game with too many 3 and outs by the Giant's offense. The Giants offense got going just too late... they really missed Toomer in there. Plaxico is not a #1 receiver.

I really agree with you about Toomer. Unlike Burress, Toomer actually RUNS ROUTES! Toomer was really Eli's go-to receiver, and without him he isn't comfortable. Shockey stinks and Burress quits on plays.

The Giants really need to clean house.

the future is going to be very bright for Romo and he is the reason the Cowboys made the playoffs this season and will be a force to reckon with for years to come. Gramatica said it all

"The one thing I want to say is that Tony was the best holder I ever had," Gramatica said. "People are talking bad, but if it wasn't for him we never would've got there. I just want to make sure that everybody understands that and he gave it all to his team. There's no need for people to point the finger because we're not doing that."

terry, if you are relying on gramatica to lay down the law for you, you might as well put on a helmet and cry like romo. again, romo's hype was all based on projection, not production. they eeked into the playoffs in a weak conference, made too many mistakes and got whipped on a day when their opponents didn't even play a great game. yeah, go cowboys.

the big ten: the sec is just tougher. one of the boys from florida said that any of their opponents from the sec could have done what they did to ohio state. wow. i dont;' see vandy doing that, but i take his point.
