An Amazing Game

Despite everything that went against the Colts, I cannot believe we had a chance to win that game last night.  While the loss was frustrating, we should be proud of this team.  Most teams would have settled for a huge loss and would have been blown out.  Despite 6 interceptions, 2 missed field goals, at least 3 more injured players, an inadvertent blown whistle on a spectacular interception, a respotting of the ball at the end of the game, 2 special team touchdowns by the Chargers, a makeshift offensive line, and that is just what I can remember, we almost pulled the game out at the end.  We started the game with 17 offensive players (3 were running backs).  We lost 2 more offensive players during game. We lost defensive players.  We had some guys step up big, Clint Sessions comes to mind.  Most of the sports hacs across the country are going to say the Colts played horribly and did not deserve to win that game.  They are probably right.  But this team has so much heart that they cannot be counted out of any game, no matter how horrible they play.  The line that "what doesn't kill you will make you stronger" most definitely applies to these Colts.  I have no doubt that this team will show up in the playoffs and be a force to be reckoned with.  We have every player on our roster gaining valuable playing experience.

At the end of the day, we must step back and look at the situation realistically.  We are going to do no better than the second seed.  Even if we had beaten the Chargers, we were going to do no better than the second seed.  We have played the worst of our schedule and lost 2 games, both of which we could have won.  If we lose 2 more games and still get the second seed , that is the best we are going to do.  I believe that the coaches are going to try to put this team in the best position possible at season's end to make another Super Bowl run.  The most important thing we are going to need to do to make a playoff run is to have our frontline guys healthy.  Playoff position and seeding is secondary.

This is a team of stand-up guys.  They will bounce back from this loss and move forward.  We also should tip our hat to Peyton.  Despite 6 interceptions, he was able to put all of that aside and almost led us to a spectacular comeback.  I cannot think of any other quaterback that I would want on our team.

Agreed
I cant believe I feel good after losing a game, this Colts team has a lot of great things and last game was a proof of that, they just keep fighting no matter who is playing you know they will try and play their best football.

I am sad, we lost a heart breaking game but man it was fun and the best thing for every backup player to learn and prove themselves on a real game.

Here is hoping for a good second half of the season and a healthy team during the playoffs.

Go Colts!!!
