Randy Moss and Crowd Noise

I just saw Randy Moss's website and its "Colts Cheat" YouTube video posting (the one accusing the Colts of pumping in crowd noise). It only goes to show that Moss is still a punk, regardless of what team he is playing for. Also, it's funny to hear a player from the Pats accusing another team of cheating.

As far as fake crowd noise goes, I went to the Bengals-Browns game this Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium, and the highest noise level never even came close to what it is at the Dome. I'm not claiming we Colts fans have the greatest/loudest fan base in the world (although it's pretty sweet), but we play in the dome where noise doesn't escape and we have some pretty smart fans who go bananas when the opponent is on 3rd down and know to shut up when the offense is on the field (thanks to Peyton sometimes). I don't care what Moss or some lame-brain dome security guard say, we've got the genuinely loudest home field advantage in the NFL.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors.

Pro Football Talk had that story too
They forgot to mention that the skipping in the video was only on the TV broadcast (the NFL found/argeed that's what happened and didn't investigate further) and that the security guard story referenced is from a anonymous source/guard reported by a Boston reporter.

lame
I love patriot players and how they are such lame crybabies. It is remarkable that a franchise as successful as NE continues to cry and whine at EVERYTHING. I shook my head during the NE/Pitts game where Brady started trash talking that idiot safety who guaranteed a win (show me where Peyton trashes a guy on the field like that) and in the last couple years they have numerous other incidents like this...why do this? Why does a team that has had the most success the last 6 seasons feel the need to cry and whine and act like children?

How anyone can like that piece of trash team is beyond me. They are easily the most classless in the NFL and maybe all of sports.

I used to dislike them because they were so good and had the Colts' number...now I hate them because they act like 7 year olds. GROW UP.

I won't even get started on Boston team fans....

Are we really expecting Moss to act mature?
If this is the dumbest, most immature thing he does this season then the Pats are in good shape.

Well said
Shake n Bake....

Listening to everything professional sports players say and taking it to heart is kinda dumb..they get PAID to play a game where it is a plus to get in the head of their opponent...hell, I used to hate all of Chad Johnson's and Terrell Owens antics on the field and their comments off the field..but in the end WHO REALLY CARES what is said..
The only thing that matters is their on field performance...let him run his mouth..as long as he keeps scoring touchdowns..

Moss
What are the odds on Moss going out on NYE to celebrate their "undefeated season," smoking a bunch of weed, and running over a couple of cops in his car?

Curious, I wonder if your philosophy on this subject changed sometime this past summer.  It's just like a Boston sports fan to hate something another team(or one of their player's) do vehemently one moment, but when your own team does it(even the same player, now on your team) you say "Oh gosh, that's just silly, none of that matters."  That, sir, is called having no INTEGRITY - which, coincidentally makes you just like your quarterback: spineless.

Randy Moss has shown he has no character or class for years now, but I guess let's forget that since he's making the Gaytriots look like a world beater since Tommy Boy gets 45 seconds every snap to wait for him to get 15 yards seperation and walk in for the touchdown.  Just wait, you'll find out soon enough why character matters in the game of football.  A player like Randy Moss - who obviously still has not matured - can bring an organization down at any time.  Maybe like the AFC Championship Game :-).

Oh yeah
I was wondering if anyone else saw this.  During the NE/Fins game, they showed a shot of the crowd, and there was a guy in the crowd wearing a T-shirt that said "I hate Peyton Manning."  Although illustrative of the unbelievable whiny nature of New England fans, I thought it was kinda funny.

Bullard...
or should I say Blowhard...I guess resorting to name calling and word play on the Patriots (Gaytriots-- I'll have to tell my 11yr old nephew that one )is all you have. Don't come at me and call me spineless when you don't even know a thing about me or my beliefs. GOD forbid I like a team that you happen to so passionately hate (probably in the past 3 yrs or so). You  sound like an umitelligent little boy wearing a dunce cap when you make such broad statements about people you don't know. I could say alot of things about you or manning -- but i don't. Maybe I could bring up the money that Manning and his father had to pay to a female trainer a couple of yrs back...talk about classless...but I don't because I don't know the whole story..You probably do though HUH??Do you personally know Brady, or just the image that has been cultivated by the media??? Please Blowhard, give me a logical explanation of your calling Brady spineless -- let alone me. Your knowledge on this subject would be most eye popping I'm sure. You really look like an a**hole on this one blowhard..really, do you even know me??? Cuz now I know what kind of guy you are....

Oh...
and if you READ my post instead of looking for pretty pictures, I SAID

"I used to hate all of Chad Johnson's and Terrell Owens antics on the field and their comments off the field.."

COMMENTS OFF THE FIELD....yeah comments off the field..I said comments, not ACTIONS off the field..

I also said let him run his MOUTH...
I did not say let him go out and get busted with 10 pounds of weed or smoke crack or beat his wife or get stabbed in the knee or get caught drunk driving or put your ass on somebody's face or...well you get my drift ...or should I draw a couple of pictures for you sweety???

Yes, USED TO was the operative phrase.  I'm sure you know look at it as OK, since your boy has done the same or worse things in his career.  It's so easy to change your opinion of other players actions when a player you like does the same things.  That's why we see no condemnation of Tommy Perfect when he trash talks a second-string safety, or when the Patriots team as a whole disrespect the Chargers on their home field after a playoff game.

Red Sox fans have done the same thing recently.  They hated the Yankee's as the Evil Empire who bought their way to World Series pennant after pennant.  But now that the Red Sox by and large do the exact same thing, there is nothing wrong with it.  Note, that sort of thing I have nothing against, as long as it's within the rules of the game and the players act professionally on the field and don't make an ass out of themselves or their team off the field. I am happy for the city of Boston that all of their sports teams (with the exception of the Bruins) are doing well, and I celebrated with my friends (who are Sox friends) won the World Series again.  But they were angry at me when I said they were copying the Yankee's winning formula.

My problem is not with the Patriots as they are, and definitely not the town of Boston.  My problem is with a coach that thinks he's so much of a genius that he can disrespect the position of coach by standing on the sidelines looking like he should be asking for change, a quarterback who has no sense of responsibility off the field (is bastardizer a word?  guess not), a sucker-punching, doping safety, and a wide receiver who quits when things don't go his way (i.e. the ball).

And as for your second post, speaking words is an ACTION, they don't appear from Magical Wonderland of Moral Relativity.  They appear from the mouths of the player who speaks them which involves the ACT of moving his mouth articulating his vocal cords and tongue, and (optionally in Randy Moss's case) using his brain.  The words that were spoking, or the videos that were posted on his website were CAUSED by him, the player.  Speaking in a way that imparts no class or character is the same as mooning the crowd for instance.  They are both classless actions, as is accusing a team of cheating with not only no evidence, but knowing the fact that the NFL had already investigated the claim and had found the irregularity to be a broadcast issue.

When Peyton Manning, after the 2005 Divisional Round loss to the Steelers, called out his offensive line - I called him out for it.  That was not a time when Peyton showed his best judgment or character, but under the circumstances it was understandable, especially since what he was talking about can be seen by anyone with film of that game and two eyes.  And also, Peyton has done nothing of the sort since, and he normally lauds them for their protection (when it is called for).

Peyton learned from his mistake and improved his character because of it.  Randy Moss just waits for the right opportunity to act out.

When Brady can't get the ball to him in the AFC Championship game, he'll quit on his routes, like his already done several times this season, and when the Patriots go home with their tail between their legs, he'll perform the ACT of speaking some asinine comment that will probably lead to him going back to Free Agent land.

So, if you want to show character, say "Hey, Randy Moss ACTED like an idiot by saying that", or "Moss better not quit on his route again or he should be gone" or "Maybe we should sit Brady with this 21 point lead with 5 minutes left so he doesn't get hurt" or "Bill looks like a fool with those cut off sleeves".  Or take a cue from Dungy, the gold standard of class in the league, and don't say anything about it (especially not a defense).  I'm sure you get my drift, or do I need to draw you a picture?
