The REAL MVP?

Did Manning really deserve the Superbowl MVP? His stats were pretty unimpressive. He did manage the game well, but I think that there were clearly others more deserving. So, did Manning just win by default? I'm wondering, because it seems like in this case, we made a true team effort; and the MVP award basically turned into a popularity contest. So, from those who know (us loyal Stampeders), Who was the REAL Superbowl XLI MVP?

It's hard to say...
The MVP doesn't always go to the player with the best stats.  Although Manning's stats were pedestrian compared with a lot of his averages, I'm not sure that any member of the team would have been harder to replace tonight than Manning.

However, I think you could make a strong case that Rhodes, Addai, and many other players deserved it.  The important thing is:  The Colts are WORLD CHAMPIONS, and will have a ring to show for it.

Manning deserves it
If he isn't a player for the ages, don't bother looking for one. Give him a dry track and he's at least half again as good as the 247 yards he chewed up Sunday evening.
But then, of course, Manning was headed for the Hall of Fame long before this. At 30, with some physical luck, he might be just starting. Manning isn't merely breaking people's records. As long as his wheels stay good, he's going to obliterate every QB standard known to fan or man.

too many good preformers
there were too many people on this team that gave it their all.  giving it to peyton is like giving it to the whole team.  he is the leader of this group, and that is recognition of how good everyone was...

(21 past MVP were QB's  -  they get it by default if there is no other real stand out.. and after all the talk of 'he can't win in the playoffs, this was inevitable)

He won by default
There were alot of deserving guys, so they just gave it to the QB. If there was any way Rhodes and Addai could have shared it, that would have been probably the best option.

honestly
I don't think any of the Colts gave a crap who won MVP.  They just won the SUPER BOWL.
