I use this Sprint phone to call my agent to set up more commercials with Sprint.

Maybe it's because I'm in to weird stuff, but I've always been intrigued by athletes in commercials.  With this thought in mind, I got to thinking about Peyton's marketing potential this season.  As we all know, Peyton Manning likes to make commercials and coming off a Super Bowl win, his chances to shell out stuff should increase infinitely.  With that said, I'd like to make this the (un)official place to guess how many commercials Peyton will be in this season.  In order to avoid disputes, let's set up some ground rules before we get this started:

  1. The commercial must run nationally, none of those local car dealer commercials count.
  2. Peyton has to be in the commercial for at least 3 seconds and he has to actually be involved in the commercial, as in it can't just be some highlights of him from on the field.  Either he has to be a) voicing something over or b) actually be on the set during the filming of the commercial.
  3. Only commercials between the start of August and the end of the Colts' season count.  Any commercials that air after the Colts play their final game do not count.  Example: Should the Colts repeat as Super Bowl champs and Peyton gets to do the Disney World commercial, it doesn't count in the final tally.
So now that the rules are set, let's get this party started!  I don't really have a prize or anything for the winner, but the joy of winning is fun isn't it?  I'll be keeping track of all the commercials that air this season, if you see one, don't hesitate to e-mail me at jake[dot]whitacre[at]gmail[dot]com and I'll add it to the list.

For the record, I'm going to say Peyton does 19 commercials.  The first one has already aired:

do the commercials that run on NFL network count or for sunday ticket count?....  that would definitely raise the total...

To be honest...
I don't have cable so I couldn't really tell you about the ones on NFL Network.  As long as they started airing after July 31st and isn't just a clip of him throwing a football, it should count.  YouTube evidence would especially be appreciated, I'll look around for it in the meantime.

I'm almost positive I know the one you speak of
It was on YouTube and now it isn't for some reason.  The magic number is now 2, and we're halfway through pre-season folks!
