Know Your Colts History

(Quick preface, peterbones I haven't forgotten about those 80's pics. I just haven't gotten around to it, but it's coming. Hopefully I'll be able to do it for next week.) Now, about tonight's game. Here's what I noticed:

  • The more I think about it, there's no way that Bob Sanders can be in on every tackle like that. It's just not humanly possible. My new theory is that everyone on defense is wearing #21 and showing it right after they make the tackle. That or Bob has a big old S painted on his chest. Actually, I like the second one better.
  • It's weird, I couldn't figure out why Bill Polian gave this to Jason David as a parting gift, but I guess it makes sense now. Come to think of it, he probably should've gave him more.
  • I can't confirm this, but I'm almost positive I heard Peyton say "wieners" during one of his audibles in the second quarter.
  • Speaking of odd things to hear on T.V., I think John Madden called Booger McFarland a defensive back. Then again, he'd probably do better than Jason did tonight. [Note: I actually like Jason David, but not tonight.]
  • Speaking of Madden, AAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
  • Did anyone else catch Rob Morris do the Mutombo finger? I almost died.
  • Al Michaels and John Madden kept mentioning how shocked they were by how good the Colts' D was. My response?
**MANNING WATCH**

If I'm counting correctly, Manning is up to 6 commercials.

  1. Manning & Bush's NBC Commercial (I guess we saw how that worked out)
  2. Manning, Manning, Manning, & Leinart for DirecTV
  3. Manning for America's Game (I still can't find it, but I'll take everyone's word on it)
  4. Manning for Sprint where he's in the hotel room and Marvin is surrounded by sharks
  5. (and 6) Manning with those new MasterCard ads where he gives advice on stuff. There were two separate commercials so they each count.
I missed most of the first quarter so if I missed any, feel free to point them out.

-----------------------

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go enjoy this for a while.

another commercial
i don't know if this counts, but there was another clip before the game of manning and bush where they promise not to play any more practical jokes, then peyton calls in the secret service...

RE:
Didn't he have a charity/united way/NFL cares type of commercial with kids playing foosball? I like foosball. I could beat Manning in foosball.

No, no I couldn't.

Ha ...
You're not watching very closely. That was an SNL skit.

RE:
Wait, he has two SNL United Way skits with foosball tables? I wasn't paying close attention, so I wanted to make sure. I vaguely remember the SNL skit being dark-humored funny set outdoors and this was pleading for "our" help. But I could be wrong. The 70s really screwed me up, man.

No nevermind, I'm dumb
I didn't see the s in foos ... thought you said football. Thought you meant the SNL skit where manning teaches the kids to play football.

Morris
He needs to make the Mutombo finger wag a regular thing. I love it. From Mutombo and him.

If he does it'll probably catch on and be like the stupid jumpshot thing all the defensive players were doing last season though. That would ruin it.

I don't know if I want him to keep it up.
