Dungy to Retire

According to our buddy Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk.com, Dungy will retire, and Caldwell will take over the position.

Should there be a search done before naming Caldwell, or is he the best candidate for the job?

The story says it won't be official until Monday.  I wish Coach Dungy all the best, and thank him for a wonderful reign in Indianapolis.

I don't know
much about Caldwell, but the organization (including Peyton) seems to think very highly of him. I'd hate to see Tony go, but it's going to happen sometime. If Caldwell is the right guy to lead us, I'd rather this happen now than have Tony hang on for one more year and lose Caldwell to another team.

Give the man a week to make his decision.  I think he deserves that at least.

I was going to post this too, good catch.  Dungy clearly said he wouldn't decide anything until after this weekend.
