Know Your Colts History: A Reason To Watch The Pro Bowl

(Before I begin, I just wanted to mention that I definitely saw someone on Wednesday wearing this shirt at 7-Eleven.  I think that means he's still at stage 1 on the Kübler-Ross model.  Anywho...)

I think most of us can agree that the Pro Bowl more times than not isn't really worth watching.  Sure, it's the last game of the season, but it's not even really a game.  Calling it an exhibition is more accurate, but even that's being generous.  With that said, there's still some highlights that come from Honolulu every once in a while, whether it be from the Skills Challenge, Devin Hester playing Tag, Sean Taylor trying to eliminate the Special Teams, or the Colts mascot getting his groove on.  Of course, most of these events are spontaneous so you can't ever really know if it's going to happen but this year I already know that something big is coming.

Check out this photo:

That's Reggie Wayne throwing the football!  Some of you are probably thinking "Well he's probably just warming up with the quarterbacks" but I beg to differ.  Consider the following:

  1. At least one Pro Bowl QB isn't a big fan of using catch to warm up, which means there's a very good possibility that they all don't like to do it.
  2. Tom Brady isn't going to be at the Pro Bowl.  Sure, Derek Anderson is "replacing" him on the roster, but Horse Balls is only there because the vets want to see if they can pull a Gilbert Arenas on him.
  3. Reggie's wearing a visor, just like all the other cool quarterbacks do.
  4. Check out the spiral on that pass!
  5. By switching out of the WR spot, Chad Johnson has one less player to share catches with, which means less headaches for everyone.
  6. Switching Wayne to QB would allow Peyton to switch back to running back, his natural position.
Laugh now, but 3 years from now when Reggie is running a dual-QB spread offense with Peyton, the only ones that will be laughing are 18 and 87.

Um...
Reggie looks a little bit too much like Vince Young in that visor.
