Who's Watching the Schedule Release Show?

For the benefit of all of us sitting at work, or those of us who are bums not working, but don't have the NFL Network, we need a volunteer to keep Stampede Blue informed on who the Colts play as they are released.  NFL.com says:

The schedule will be announced on a week-by-week basis, highlighting all the compelling games and culminating with a countdown of the 10 most-anticipated match-ups of 2008.
We obviously already know who we play in Week 1 (Chicago on Sunday Night, for anyone who hasn't been around these parts in a while).

We can also use this thread to discuss everything with the schedule, so everything is together.

Doing some searching around the inter-webs, I found this, courtesy of the Orange and Brown Report:

On a serious note, my buddy that works for the [Cleveland] plain dealer just called me and said that week one is Cowboys,  sunday night at home is Steelers but no date,  sunday night at home against Colts, and one away monday night game
Apparently, we'll be visiting Cleveland on a Sunday night.  Sounds good to me, although I hope it's early in the year, rather than later.

Here's the schedule. Special thanks to metalmilitia for posting in comments. -- BBS

I can say one thing...
The Broncos visit the Browns on Thursday, November 6th, so I think that source has a few too many prime time games for the Browns..

Pat Williams of the Vikings says the Vikings Home Opener is a Primetime game against the Colts...

Sounds like
we are going to get 2 early Primetime games since were having a game in a home opener.

Bye Week 4
Man I hate early bye weeks! I would rather have the bye week later on...

Are you Fing kidding me?
That early for a bye week? This sucks. :(

What kills me
Is the Jacksonville game in Week 16 is a Thursday nighter.  Luckily, the Sunday game before is a home game with the Lions.  Still I hate having the short week against the Jags, of all teams.
The fault, dear Brutus, lies not in the stars, but in ourselves.

i heard on the radio
that the colts have the second toughest schedule in the league, just a hair behind the steelers.

and who got the easiest schedule?

the patriots, of course.

My main concern
is the early bye week. cant they give us the bye just before we start that horrible stretch? FUCK

by metalmilitia on Apr 15, 2008 3:31 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

The Patriots...
are always gonna have an easy schedule as long as the rest of the AFC east are constantly rebuilding. Sucks but that's how it is.

Honestly
I don't think its bad at all. We got some "easy" teams on there. Playing the Pats, Steelers AND Chargers is a bit excessive, but we also get all those NFC North teams.

The good thing is
The Colts already 4 of the teams they are likely to encounter come the playoffs: Jaguars, Pats, Chargers, Steelers. So no surprises in the post-season.

Projected Wins/Losses
BEARS* - W
at Vikings - W
JAGS - W
Bye Week
at Texans - W
RAVENS - W
at Packers - W/L
at Titans* - W
PATRIOTS - W
At Steelers - W/L
TEXANS - W
at Chargers - L/W
at Browns* - W/L
BENGALS - W
LIONS - W
at Jags* - L/W
TITANS - W

Obviously, a W is a win. A W/L or L/W could go either way depending on weather, injuries, or external factors (like the Browns feeling cheated out of a playoff berth last season and playing out of their minds); first letter is more likely. The Colts' big tests for the year at @PIT, @SD, and NE. A win over those three teams gives them a tiebreaker for homefield advantage. However, I fully expect SD and NE to beat us in the overall wins category and take the top two seeds.

Probable losses: @SD, @JAX.
Predicted final record: 13-3, #3 seed in the AFC.

a certain W vs. New England
I think that game could obviously go either way.

by torontocoltsfan on Apr 15, 2008 5:11 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I would be more expectant of a W against NE
Cause with pesky Samuel gone, the NE secondary is more likely to be torched by Wayne, Gonzo and Harrison (fingers crossed)

I agree on most parts.
Except the first Jags game is no gimme.  And the GB game should be much easier minus Brett Favre, so I would call it a W.

Probable Losses
I don't like that phrase.  Never again.  No loss is probable with the great Dungy leading your team.

San Diego
No matter how, I am going to the game in San Diego, I missed the game last season, no way I miss this.

GO COLTS!
