1. Alabama - vs Auburn - W 36-0
2. Boise State - vs Fresno State - W 61-10
3.Utah - idle
I will obstinately cling to my lunatic fringe status by keeping Utah and Boise State ranked ahead of Florida et al, but I am shifting Boise ahead of the Utes since, even though their 1A opponents have a combined 63-69 record, Boise has bested 8 bowl (eligible) teams while Utah has only beaten 5. And for the record, everyone else below them (save Ball State, whom I decided to move into the top ten anyway for beating a relatively solid Western Michigan team to stay undefeated) has a loss despite playing "the best football in the country," and when it comes to this poll, right or wrong, that's the first thing I'm going to look at, "quality wins" be damned.
4. Florida - at FSU - W 45-15
5. Oklahoma - at Oklahoma State - W 61-41
My ratinale for ranking OU ahead of Texas can be found here.

Running Back Success Rates vs Auburn
...this week's wallpaper, by the way...
To refresh your memories (or if this is the first time you've seen this), each individual rush is considered on it's own, and measured by it's "success." A run is considered successful if it gets 40% of the yardage needed to move the chains on first down, 60% of the yardage needed on second down, and 100% of the yardage needed on third or fourth down. This is a much more accurate overall picture of how well a running back does in a game than just the total yardage or ypc averages because it ignores big run outliers that can skew those kinds of stats. First up, Glen Coffee:
Coffee had some good success in the early goings but his production slipped some in the second half, though most of that was due to Alabama doing nothing but run and Auburn doing nothing but play the run. Next, Mark Ingram:
Interestingly, while Coffee's numbers dropped in the second half, Ingram was able to gain more yardage and was more successful, with his second half performance looking better success rate wise than Coffee did in either half (though he certainly takes the prize for overall performance). Finally, the mop up crew:
Upchurch managed a perfect 100% in clean up duty, though he did only carry two times, while Griffin and Grant didn't fare nearly as well.

Alabama tailback Roy Upchurch continues to struggle with neck spasms and is "questionable" for Saturday's SEC title game against Florida, according to Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban.
"I still think Roy is questionable," Saban said. "He did practice better. He wanted to play in the game. He wanted to try it out. We played him a few plays. I don't know that he has the confidence that he needs to be able to continue to play, but we'll just see how it develops. He would be a guy that's questionable here in the future."
Roy Upchurch "questionable" for SEC title game
Bad news as far as depth goes, but unless something completely unforeseen happens (knock on wood) to Coffee or Ingram, he was still the 3rd back in the rotation, so it's not as big of a blow as possibly losing Harvin.

Did anyone else notice how Lundquist couldn't get over the fact that Stover's TD last night was his "FIRST EVER!" I guess he didn't watch the Independence Bowl last year (3:28 mark), or, you know bother to pull up his career stats before speaking. More of that quality CBS coverage we're locked into for the next 15 years!

Florida Gators playmaker Percy Harvin's ankle sprain puts his status for SEC title game in doubt
All right kids, I know we're all still excited about the Auburn win, but unlike certain other schools in this state our season isn't over yet. It's Florida week!
