As we've blogged about all week, this is not a good match-up for Indy. 18 to 88 is even less optimistic. We also now know Daniel Muir will not play, which means 270 pound NT Eric Foster will have to play much of the game at the point of attack. Though Willie Parker will not play, Mewelde Moore is a good back-up and should not be taken lightly. Key to the game is third down defense. As mgrex30's post shows, the Colts are awful on third down. To have any shot at winning this game, they must get Pittsburgh's offense off the field on third down, giving their own offense opportunities to score. They must also attack Ben Roethisberger and pressure him into turnovers.
But, as the Colts have shown all year, they do not back down from a fight. This should be one helluva game.
The Steelers are covered over at Behind the Steel Curtain. I encourage you to head over their and check out what they are doing, especially this funny spotlight on Manning. Obviously, Pittsburgh fans like to flaunt their 2005 playoff win at us. Since that playoff run, the Steelers haven't won a playoff game. I personally have had this game circled on the calendar. It won't be easy, but then again it isn't supposed to be. As always, we hope for a good, clean game.
Go Colts!
