Drafter: saintnixon Reasons for drafting: "A dominant D-line can mask almost any other deficiency on defense, and with Adam Carriker and Chris Long already in the fold, Raji gives the Rams a chance to have the most dominant young D-line in football as these three continue to develop. Steve Spagnuolo loves versatility along the D-line, (and has maximized the talents of such linemen as Justin Tuck, Osi Umenyiora, and Mathias Kiwanuka,) and now he's got it. Moreover, since the Rams are in full-fledged rebuilding mode, it relieves some pressure for Raji to be dominant in his first year, which is something that rarely happens with defensive linemen. I also took a long hard look at LT Jason Smith and WR Michael Crabtree, but ultimately decided this draft is far deeper at WR and OT than it is at DL." |
