With the 10th Pick in the 2009 Stampede Blue Community Mock Draft, San Francisco selects...

Everett Brown, DE, Florida State

10. San Francisco 49ers

Drafter: VolsnCards5

Reasons for drafting: "This was a tough choice to make, as the Niners need help on the offensive line and in the secondary, as well as at pass rush. I could easily see them trading down in the first round to acquire more picks. There are also a number of people that think they should take Mark Sanchez with this pick. After talking to the guys over at Niners Nation, it became apparent that a rookie QB is not what this team needs, especially when that rookie is no sure thing. The choice, for me, came down to Oher or Brown(Andre Smith scares me). The Niners have had trouble with first round picks in the past, so they really don't need to strike out(Hence, no Andre Smith). I'm not sure the real draft will lay out like this one has(I think Brown will be gone by 10) which is why I have been high on Oher in this spot. But, since the 49ers just signed Marvel Smith, this is a deep class for OTs, and Brown is still available, I decided on Brown. He will probably at first just be a pass-rushing specialist as a outside linebacker in SF 3-4 defense, but with time and under the tutelage of Mike Singletary, I think he can easily become an every down player. He has all the tools necessary and represents good value at this pick. He also showed he can play the run well while at Florida State, which could allow him to play both DE and OLB. With Manny Lawson and Parys Haralson(FA after this year) as SF's OLBs, added depth, and probably an upgrade, will only help this team."
