Stampede Blue Draft Prediction Contests

Yes, that "s" on the end of "Contests" is correct.  We have 2 contests for all of you, leading up to this Saturday's draft.  Here's the details:

  • Complete First Round:  This one is pretty easy.  Select each of the first 32 players selected.  We've set up a Stampede Blue group on NFL.com for all of us to make predictions.  Use the password gocolts to join the group.  Here's how the scoring works:
Point Level Definition Fantasy Points Earned
Correct Pick 100 Fantasy Points will be awarded for each selected prospect on your Draft Card who was picked during round 1 of the Draft in the same number order as your selection.

Example: if you selected John Doe to be picked first on your Draft Card and if during the 2009 NFL Draft he was actually picked first, then you will receive 100 Fantasy Points.
    100 Fantasy Points
One Away 50 Fantasy Points will be awarded for each selected prospect on your Draft Card who was picked during round 1 of the Draft either 1 position before or after your selection.

Example: if you selected John Doe to be picked second on your Draft Card and if during the 2009 NFL Draft he was actually picked either first or third, then you will receive 50 Fantasy Points.
    50 Fantasy Points
Two Away 20 Fantasy Points will be awarded for each selected prospect on your Draft Card who was picked during round 1 of the Draft either 2 positions before or after your selection.

Example: if you selected John Doe to be picked third on your Draft Card and if during the 2009 NFL Draft he was actually picked either first or fifth, then you will receive 20 Fantasy Points.
    20 Fantasy Points
Three Plus (but still selected in first round) 10 Fantasy Points will be awarded for each selected prospect on your Draft Card who was picked during round 1 of the Draft either 3 or more positions before or after your selection.

Example: if you selected John Doe to be picked tenth on your Draft Card and if during the 2009 NFL Draft he was actually picked seventh (or earlier) or between thirteenth and thirty-second, then you will receive 10 Fantasy Points.
    10 Fantasy Points

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to earn Bonus Fantasy Points, which are based on the quantity of Correct Picks (as defined above) made on your Draft Card as follows:

    Point Level

    Bonus Fantasy Points Earned

    5 to 9 Correct Picks

    100 Bonus Fantasy Points

    10 to 14 Correct Picks

    200 Bonus Fantasy Points

    15 to 19 Correct Picks

    300 Bonus Fantasy Points

    20 to 24 Correct Picks

    400 Bonus Fantasy Points

    25 to 29 Correct Picks

    500 Bonus Fantasy Points

    30 or 32 Correct Picks

    600 Bonus Fantasy Points

The group "Patriots Fans" has 89 members.  Let's beat them in terms of numbers.  Everyone make those picks!
  • Colts Full 7 Round Draft:  This is where we separate the experts from the Todd McShays.  You will predict who the Colts will take with each of their 8 picks in the draft.  I've stolen the scoring system from Mile High Report, because they know what they are doing over there:
10 pts for taking the correct player at the correct pick.
5 pts for choosing a correct player but at a different pick.
3 pts for choosing the correct position (QB, RB, DT etc.) with a particular pick, regardless of individual player selected.
2 pts for each position you correctly guess that Denver will take, regardless of where they are taken.

In the interest of time, I didn't input over 600 potential draftees for you to choose from, so you have to write them out.  Please input them in the following format:  First Name Last Name - Position (Abbreviation).  For example, if you think the Colts will take Mark Sanchez first, you'd input:
    Mark Sanchez - QB

This will help me tremendously, and I thank all of you in advance.  I've put the form after the jump, so you don't have to go anywhere to submit your picks.

You can make your picks up until 4:00 ET Saturday.  I'll be getting everything together while I watch the draft, and hope to have a spreadsheet up before pick 10 or so, so you can track it yourself.  Any questions let me know.  Enjoy!
