For the first time since 1970, there will be no team that that is, at least, 4-0.
Today, the 2-2 Colts had all kinds of problems handling the 3-0 Chiefs. But, at the end of the day, the Colts much maligned defense came through in the second half, limiting the Chiefs to just three first downs prior to KC's last, desperate drive to get back in the game. Throughout the entirety of the game, the Colts kept the Chiefs out of the endzone. They also tightened the screws on their run defense, limiting KC to just 30 yards rushing in the second half. In the first half, KC ran for 84 yards.
Peyton Manning had a tough game today, playing under constant pressure because right tackle Ryan Diem simply could not block Chiefs defensive end Tamba Hali. There were also some rather questionable offensive play calls throughout. Not sure if that was Manning, or his coordinator Clyde Christensen.
Colts ran the ball effectively, especially Mike Hart in the fourth quarter. Hart's hard 11-yard touchdown with roughly 4 minutes left iced the contest. It was the only touchdown scored by either club.
Colts move to 3-2 after an ugly win. But, ugly wins are still 'wins.' Nothing is 'pretty' when you lose.
Go Colts!
Special thanks to the Chiefs fans at Arrowhead Pride for being so great all week long. Chiefs are a good team. We may see each other again this season.
