Stampede Blue reader coltsfan723 informs us that the Colts roster page has been updated, and that Gijon Robinson has returned.

Robinson is a tight end, H-Back that the Colts have had on and off the roster for three years now. With players like Brody Eldridge, Dallas Clark, and Jacob Tamme pretty firmly settled into the tight end, H-Back positions, it seems like Robinson is back only to play special teams.

The roster spot opened up for Robinson because the Colts placed Brandon King on IR yesterday. King is the third safety the Colts have IRed this year, along with Melvin Bullitt and Jamie Silva. Bob Sanders, who might as well be on IR, is out indefinitely while he recovers from yet another biceps injury.

To call the safety position 'thin' is an understatement. Why the Colts are signing yet another tight end when the safety position is such a position of need it's not even funny makes no sense to me or to Phil Wilson of the Indianapolis Star.
