Adam Schefter of ESPN Tweets:
Two well-placed NFL sources predicting tonight that the Randy Moss-to-Minnesota trade will be consummated Wednesday.
Schefter is rarely, if ever, wrong about these kinds of things. Moss is a Viking, and unless the Patriots are getting significant compensation, this is a dumb move for them if they plan to contend for a title in 2010.
[UPDATE]: The Vikings will give the Patriots a third round pick for Moss.
[UPDATE]: The trade is done. Pats get a third rounder in 2011 for Moss. I'll state the obvious by saying that without Moss, the Patriots are not a Super Bowl team. They also just handed the AFC East to the New York Jets. Also, if Randy Moss is the 'great' receiver everyone says he is, why has he been traded from the Vikes to the Raiders to the Patriots and then back to the Vikes again during his career? Simple, it's because he's a lazy punk who disappears in critical games and in critical situations. I've said this before, and I'll say it again ('cause the numbers and the games won don't lie): Reggie Wayne is better.
