In the span of seven days, Colts rookie wideout Chris Brooks went from the practice squad to the active roster to cut from the team. Welcome to life in the NFL, rookie. From National Football Post's Aaron Wilson:
he Indianapolis Colts waived undrafted rookie wide receiver Chris Brooks from the active roster, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.
Brooks was promoted from the practice squad last week when safety Chip Vaughn was cut to create a roster spot for him.
Brooks is eligible to rejoin the practice squad if he clears waivers.
Brooks was initially signed by the Buccaneers after he went undrafted out of Nebraska. The Colts picked him up after Tampa Bay waived him.Don't be surprised to see him land back on the practice squad.
This move clears up a roster spot, meaning we will likely see the return of someone to the WR corps. Hopefully, this move is a sign Austin Collie is ready to return.
