Asamoah is a versatile, hard-working interior lineman to shore up depth and provide some competition for Stacy Andrews and Max Jean-Gilles. Andrews is talented but coming off an injury, while Jean-Gilles is probably a career backup. Asamoah has the size and ability needed to keep quarterback Kevin Kolb upright, but really shines in run blocking. Philadelphia will need a road-grader type to open holes for LeSean McCoy and get the ground game working so that Kolb doesn't become a snack for the pass rushers he'll face this year.
How will he impact the 2010 Eagles?
Asamoah isn't the biggest name at O-line this year, but he's plenty talented for what will be asked of him. He may not start immediately, but he'll see plenty of playing time this year if Andrews gets re-injured, and should be starting somewhere on the line--either guard position or right tackle--by next season.
