With Charles Brown and Rodger Saffold on the board at 31 would the Colts, for once, make the pick everyone expected from them and upgrade the Left Tackle position? Would they pick up a 3rd edge rusher in Jerry Hughes instead? Or would it be a total shocker?
The pick?
TCU DE Jerry Hughes. Hughes is a small speedy pass rusher who can spell and backup Freeney and Mathis at the end spots. The Colts really suffered last year without a 3rd edge rushing option. Hughes was projected by FO's SackSEER system as the best edge rusher in the class.
Who The Hell Will They Draft? profiled Hughes here
Expect to see Hughes on STs, providing spells for Freeney and Mathis in pass heavy games, filling their shoes if either goes down to injury again and taking Raheem Brock's place as the roaming LB in the 3-4 look the Colts occasionally showed last year.
