Dr. Blue's Health of the Franchise - The Clinic is Open

As the picks started to roll in this morning, I was unable to rip my eyes away from the constant coverage and do a health profile on each of our new acquisitions.  This was further exacerbated by the flurry at the end of the seventh round and the UDFA period, which continues.

So this post will summarize the key medical findings of our 5th round and later selections.

Brody Eldridge, TE

Date/Nature of Injury: 2004 (high school) - broken ankle; 2008 - ankle injury; Nov 2009 - severe shoulder injury, which was either later determined to be a stress fracture in the C-6 vertebrae, or the stress fracture was in addition to the shoulder injury (I'm thinking there's a possibility they're related due to referred pain).

Despite Brody's neck injury, he participated in the Combine and obviously did well enough for the Colts to take a chance on his health.

Date/Nature of Injury: Dec 2005 - torn knee ligament requiring surgery and forfeiting his 2006 season; Dec 2008 - torn left ACL (underwent surgery in Jan 2009).  Tim played in 2009, so I expect him to be ready for duty should the unthinkable happen.
