Colts Seventh-Round Pick Kavell Conner Signed to Four-Year Deal

The Colts completed another signing, now with Kavell Conner under contract.  Terms haven't been disclosed but they are rumored to be similar to the deal signed yesterday by Indiana University cornerback Ray Fisher.

[UPDATE]: BBS here. Here's some rumored details on Conner's contract via National Football Post:

Terms weren't disclosed, but it's believed the deal has a total base value of $1.835 million and includes a signing bonus slightly over $45,000.

It includes the standard base salaries of $320,000, $405,000, $490,000 and $575,000 as well as a slotted signing bonus and a fourth-year escalator clause that can significantly boost the maximum value of the deal.

So, pretty standard deal for Conner, who (like Fisher) was drafted in the seventh round. The Colts have three seventh-rounders this year, with Ricardo Mathews drafted two spots ahead of Conner. We should (in theory) expect a Mathews signing shortly.

Kavell Conner will compete for the back-up WILL backer spot in camp and play LOTS of special teams.
