So much for collegiate free agent David Caldwell being able to use the first preseason game as a way to prove his worth to the Colts coaching staff. Caldwell was placed on the waived-injured list. This means that, if no other team claims him for the 2010 season, Caldwell will go to the injured reserve list.

Replacing David Caldwell (no relation to Jim, in case you wondered) on the roster is a somewhat familiar name: Donye' McCleskey. Like Caldwell, McCleskey is a collegiate free agent. He had originally signed with the Colts following the 2010 NFL Draft, but was cut back on July 20th to make room for the team signing seventh-round pick Ray Fisher.

At 6'0, 225 pounds, McCleskey seems to have a good body build to play safety. He's is a local kid, playing his college ball at Indiana State. He posted 92 tackles one sack and two picks in eleven games with the Sycamores his senior season.
