Caldwell for pres on a job well done

When you have one of the all-time greats playing for the city you live in, it's very easy to get so caught up in the greatness of that player that you miss the accomplishments of others in the organization. With all of the changes and injuries the Colts have had this year, one man has not only kept the team afloat in the midst of chaos, but also kept the team competitive week in and week out. Jim Caldwell has done a phenomenal job given the circumstances of his team this year. The Colts had every reason to fold with the list of injuries mounting week after week, the lack of a running game, and the inability to stop the run for most of the year. But for 4 weeks now the Colts have vastly improved in both of those areas as they head into the playoffs. Can they beat the Jets, Steelers and Pats for a 3rd SB appearance as of late? Who knows. For me as I mentioned in a previous article, I was all for the Colts tanking and positioning themselves for a better draft position with the way things were going all year. I still don't think they will get past all of the teams I've mentioned with all of the key people who are out. But I will say this: If they somehow pull off that miracle I will be jumping through the roof just like the rest of the Indy faithful. Forgive me for my lack of faith but that is a TALL order to run the table on for them. As much as I hate the Pats, they look like the AFC's most dangerous team right now. They are healthy and rested. We'll see how it all unfolds. Until then, I'll enjoy the playoffs. Hats off to coach Caldwell on a job well done.
