Stampede Blue Prediction Contest Results Week 17, Link For Wild Card Round

Congtratulations to Heeringa and emiller17 for winning the Straight Up and Against the Spread contests!

Heeringa hit on 66% of straight up games, holding off Accuscore in the final week. emiller17 got 148 games correct hitting 58% of the time. Readers did dominate the ATS contest with the best expert being Bill Simmons tied for 8th.

In Week 17, the toughest game to select was the Bradford led Rams falling to the Sea Chickens. Only 7 entries got that game correct. Actorscott, ColtsFanFromHawaii, misterC and mgrex's Predictor all got 12 games correct this week. An interesting note, teams with the Better Record only beat the number 6 times. That may show how many teams had things locked up and didn't go all out. Another interesting note, is that Favorites on the season covered 48% of the time. I would guess that is exactly where Vegas would like that number to be.

Week 17 in the Straight Up contest saw another first. Les carpenter from Yahoo sports hit 15 out of 16 games. He took New Orleans over Tampa Bay for his only miss this week. GREAT work! The toughest game this week again was the Sea Chicken taking it into the playoffs. 7 out of 56 entries got that game correct. This week, every entry but one got at least 8 games correct. From the files of your record tells you who you are, Best Record won 60% of their games this year. Favorites were also only 1 game from the best overall. As great as Adam Schefter is at getting inside information, he is pretty terrible at picking games. He was our lowest expert this year. Thanks for a great season!

For the playoffs, I will still do a contest for those who are interested. Since there are so few games to pick, I am adding the Over/Under to the contest. For those of you unfamiliar with this, you are choosing whether total points for the game will be over or under a number. There is a third option for the Type of Picks. If you are picking SU or ATS don't pay attention to the OVER or UNDER statements. Just use the team names. If you a selection Over/Under, don't look at the team names.
