I know I missed a couple weeks with updates here and I apologize for that. What can I say; family holidays and my wife being sick because she is expecting have just killed all my free time. Anyway, on to the week that was in the picks and fantasy world.
Straight Up this week only 4 underdogs won out of 16 games. Closest to the lowest percentage of underdogs winning we've had all year. Overall, Stampede readers did well straight up getting 70% of the game correct. Leading the way was tressels blue sweater vest who got 14 of 16 correct only missing the Cardinals and the Redskins. Those two games were the two hardest to get correct at only 32% and 23% correct respectively. Overall standings show G-String holding a one game lead over actorscott and peytonsforehead with a 121-55 record.
Against the Spread, Vegas hit it right on the money with Favorites and Underdogs splitting the week at 8-8. Readers lost money again only getting 44% of the games correct. Only 13% of readers thought that the Chiefs would cover against the Steelers, making it the hardest game to get correct. A side note, two site editors got hammered this week against the spread as myself and mgrex only got 5 out of 16 games correct. Tough week for us! Best this week was Flying Guillotines with 12 of 16. Overall leader is split between Mr. Indianapolis Colts and Spread Eagles with 94 correct picks. Just to show how tough this is, only the top 10 submitters are above .500 on the year.
Fantasy news after the jump. Remember you can check out each of the fantasy leagues at http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/league/stampedeblueleagueX where X is a number between 1 and 13.
Just because I'm writing, you get to hear about what pissed me off this week. I had to play Tom Brady in two of leagues. I was ahead going into both of those games and would have won if he would have score about 6 points less. Stupid Philly defense!
Giselle's husband aside, Drew Brees exploded to lead all scorers this week with 48.95 points. Victor Cruz continues to shine in fantasy with 36.70 this week. In the Giants five games since the bye he has 34 catches for 559 yards and 4 TDs. Not bad for somebody, I will admit, I didn't know before the season started.
Top team this week was WTF from league 3. Their total of 184.35 also led to the biggest blowout of the week with a win over Superfreaks by 123.2 points. Staying in that league, we also had a very close game in the league between the Redundant Oxymorons and Knockonwood. Knockonwood moved to 11-1 by holding on by 0.85 points with any production from Mario Manningham. That wasn't the closest game of the week though. In League 6, mgrex's Statistical Anomaly lost to Irish Coco by0.75 points. Jimmy Graham's big night led the way for Coco as they moved to 9-3 and locked up a playoff spot.
Overall top scorer is drakness from League 2 with 1771.75 points and a 10-2 record. Our last undefeated team fell during week 11 as in League 7 Maclin on your girl lost to Along Came Collie by 1.2 points. In a strange occurrence, our last winless team, Big Blue Horse, also broke through in Week 11 in League 7 with a 1.25 point win over Logan Squares. Big Blue Horse got 64.05 of his 97.25 points from Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson.
Good luck this week as we head toward playoff time.
