2011 NFL Mock Draft: First Post-Super Bowl Mock Draft Still Has Colts Taking Derek Sherrod

Super Bowl XLV is done and in the books, which means the order for the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft is set. The Steelers will pick at no. 31 in the first round, while the Packers are at no. 32.

For my buddy Brian Galliford at SB Nation, the first post-Super Bowl mock draft stragetegy changes little for the Colts now that the complete first round draft order is set.

22. Indianapolis Colts: Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State. Indy’s left tackle position has been a crapshoot since Tarik Glenn left the team, and as awesome as Peyton Manning is, the Colts won’t be Super Bowl-ready until they do more in front of him. Sherrod has the quicks and the experience to start right away.

I've seen roughly ten mock drafts so far since the Colts exited the playoffs. All of them have the Colts selecting either a left tackle like Sherrod or a defensive tackle like Stephen Paea of Oregon State.

Of course, all this means is that Bill Polian will draft a wide receiver just to spite the mean, nasty fans and media who keep screaming that he needs to take a tackle.
