Back in December of last year, Jim Irsay used Twitter to stir up speculation that the Colts could be playing a game in London in 2011 as part of the NFL’s International Series. Today, the NFL announced the Colts are not one of the two teams that are London bound next season.
This year, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 'hosting' the Chicago Bears in London. The game will be played on Sunday, October 23 at 1:00 p.m. ET (6:00 p.m. UK time).
FOX will provide live television coverage in the United States. Live coverage in the UK will air on Sky Sports and BBC Radio, with highlights on BBC TV.
The NFL has also announced that the 2011 regular season schedule will be made public tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. ET, on NFL Network and NFL.com. This despite the fact that the lockout has not been lifted, and all signs point to this thing getting dragged out in appeals court despite federal court ordered mediation.
