Week 3 Stampede Blue Fantasy/Picks Update

ORCHARD PARK, NY - SEPTEMBER 25: Welker didn't need any more fantasy points so he decided not to tackle Drayton Florence during his interception return. 51.6 is plenty for one week. (Photo by Rick Stewart/Getty Images)

Another good week of participation in the picks contests with some interesting results to say the least.  This weeks winner in the Straight Up contest is Obscene (not sure if that was assigned by Yahoo or picked by the user, please let me know as I am interested)  who got 13 of 16 games correct.  Again, Stampede Blue loves the Patriots as all entries except 4 picked them to beat the Bills (more on this game in the ATS section).  Every entry that was submitted picked the Chargers over the Chiefs.  The "Dreamteam" Eagles are still being picked heavily as only 15% of the entries went with the Giants straight up.  Overall, Lord help our Colts leads with 36 out of 48 correct picks.

Against the Spread this week, r.steal led the way with 13 out of 16 correct (hope you bet those man cause that's bank right there).   Props also to ColtsFanFromHawaii who had 12 correct.  My note about the Pats and Bills gets interesting to me here.  While 95% of you picked the Pats to win the game, 63% thought 8.5 was too big a number and took the Bills plus the points.  Looks like Stampede Blue knew more than Vegas on that game.  NFC powerhouse favorites Philly and Atlanta cost people the most as 80% thought they would cover and neither did.  Overall standings show Lord help our Colts on top again with 28 out of 44 correct (64%).

Fantasy News after the jump....Check out each league at http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/league/stampedeblueleagueX where X is a number between 1 and 13.

Winner this week is Live and Let Addai from League 10 with 224.3 points.  He was led by a huge 51.6 point performance from Wes Welker and over 30 points from Drew Brees, Darren McFadden and Jermichael Finley (anytime you get 30 from a TE you should be golden!).  Overall highest score goes to Peyday from League 7 with 514.85 (171.6 points per week).

Closest game this week involved the BigBlueShoe who was handed his first lose of the season by The Breakers (who got their first win of the season) by just 0.35 points.  BBS was down by 12.35 with Santana Moss left to play on Monday night.  With 4 minutes left in the 4th and the Redskins in 3rd and 17, Rex Grossman tried to hit Moss deep down the right side, but threw the ball out of bounds.  This one play would have changed the outcome of the fantasy matchup.  Sorry for ya BBS!

In other SB Fantasy News:

  • Statistical Anomaly  (the Legaue 12 version) and Mr. Blue in League 3 have had the distinct honor of having the most points scored against  them.  The strange thing is, both teams have given up the exact same number of points after 3 weeks (492.45).
  • League 5 continues to be one of the most competitive leagues as this week all games were decided by an average of 13.91 points.
  • Congrats to Manning4Prez in League 1 for the biggest win of the week (119.35) but it comes with a caveat.  They played (V) () _) () who only scored 58.2 after losing Kenny Britt and getting a goose egg from Beanie Wells.  Tough week for them.
  • Matt's Statistical Anomaly teams went 7-6 this week, bringing his overall record for the year to 23-16 in all leagues.

Congrats to all the winners from Week 3 and good luck!
