Last night, during the opening game of the 2011 regular season between the Packers and Saints, New Orleans attempted an onside kick late in the fourth quarter. The Saints defense, which looked awful last night, couldn't stop your grandmother if she ran a draw play. Down 8 with 2:15 left, John Kasay attempted an onside kick. The Packers had their 'hands team' on the field, and Donald Driver recovered the kick for the Packers.
The Saints onside kick recalled their now famous play to start the second half of Super Bowl XLIV. Garrett Hartley attempted an onside kick just after halftime in that game, and Colts WR Hank Baskett was in position to recover it As we all know, he didn't. Saints recovered the kick, and went on to upset the Colts in the Super Bowl.
Raheem Brock was a defensive end for the Colts during that Super Bowl. In fact, it was his last game as a Colt. Brock was also watching last night's shootout between the Packers and Saints, and when Driver recovered Kasay's onside kick, Brock tweeted this:
Dear hank baskett: if u were watching the game tonight.....that's how u catch an onside kick!!! I'm just sayn... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yep, Raheem went there.
