2012 NFL Week 7 Pick Of The Week: New York Giants At Washington Redskins

Christopher Price is looking for another break-out game by New York... go big!

Brad Mills-US PRESSWIRE

Giants (4-2) @ Redskins (3-3)

Pick – Giants (-6)

Pick of the Week: FIVE STARS!!!

With much of the public money favoring the Washington Redskins (3-3) to cover the spread in this week's game with the New York Giants (4-2), I don't see this as even being a close call... especially given the way New York dismantled San Francisco 49ers (5-2) at home last week, 26-3.

Washington, lead by rookie sensation QB Robert Griffin, III (100.5 - QB Rating, 1,343 YDS, 2 INT's, 5 TD's), has a solid offense - especially when Griffin can scamper off for big gains when the secondary has locked onto his receiving core. The problem with this is that I feel Griffin makes the decision to keep it himself far too quickly, not giving many of Washington's plays a chance to fully develop. Add to the fact that the Giants pass rush is one of the best in the NFL, and I think they'll have a few coverage surprises and hard licks in store for Griffin and the entire Redskins' offense.

Truth be told, the Redskins are ranked dead-last in passing yards-per-game (328.3) and with the precision of Giants' QB Eli Manning's (94.9 QB Rating - 1,772 YDS, 5 INT's, 11 TD's) passing attack, who will be getting key receiver Hakeem Nicks (17 REC, 281 YDS, 1 TD) back from injury today, look for Manning and company's numbers to soar. That's not even taking into account Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw (92 ATT, 449 YDS, 3 TD's) - although he did not practice Friday and is questionable for Sunday's game; even if New York has to rely on their backup RB Andre Brown (38 ATT, 198 YDS, 3 TD's), he has already proven this season that he is more than capable of carrying the load.

I'm looking for another break-out game by New York, leading to a double-digit win thanks to the extremely suspect secondary Washington has shown throughout the beginning of the season thus far. I love it... go big!

Just So Ya' Know:

  • Giants are 3-0-1 ATS in last four games
  • Redskins QB Robert Griffin, III has yet to play NFC East opponent
  • Redskins are 3-1 ATS as underdog
