The Colts Losing To The Patriots Should Not Freak Fans Out

Yes, the Colts lost badly to the Patriots, but the team is still in great position to make the post-season.

By now you've had 14+ hours to get over a truly BAD Colts loss at the hands of the Patriots, 59-24. Before we get into the dirty details in our post-game recaps, there are positives that came out of Week 11.

  • The Chargers got thumped by the Broncos. This means they are 4-6, and all but out of the playoff picture baring a complete collapse by the Colts, Steelers, or Ravens.
  • Yes, the Colts lost badly to the Patriots, but the team is still in great position to make the post-season. The Jets, Bills, and Dolphins are all 4-6. The Colts play the Bills next week. Indy has already beaten Miami, and the New York Jets face the Patriots at home Thanksgiving night.
  • The Titans are 4-6, and the Colts have already beaten them on the road.

The point here is that even with the loss, the Colts are still in great position to make the post-season. Considering what everyone's expectations were for this team in 2012, and taking into account the absence of Chuck Pagano, that is pretty friggin' amazing.

So, relax. Chill. Don't freak out.

This team has many flaws, but so does everyone else in the AFC. The Colts have several winnable games left on the schedule, and they've shown all season long that they are quite effective at bouncing back.
