It hasn't been a very good month for former-Bill Polian draft selection taken in 2009. Bruce Arians announced at his Monday presser that the Colts will place defensive end Fili Moala on injured reserve, ending his season. Moala was a second round pick of the Colts in 2009.

Two weeks ago, the Colts put 2009 third round pick Jerraud Powers on injured reserve, ending his 2012 season and, more than likely, his career in Indianapolis. He's a free agent and season's end, and this year was his third in a row landing on IR.

With Moala, the injury was an ACL sustained during Indy's 2-13 win over Buffalo. After the game, Moala told Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star, "I’ll be fine" when asked about his injury. Now, Moala's season is over. Like Powers, his contract is also up at the end of the season. Don't look for him to get re-signed. The former USC standout has just 14 combined tackles on the season with no sacks.

This is the second defensive end the Colts have had to IR in recent weeks. 2011 third round pick Drake Nevis was IRed prior to the Week 11 game against the Patriots.
