Brown signed with the Colts on May 23rd as a rookie free agent. He spent time on the practice squad this season and was promoted to the active roster prior to the Jets game in week 6. He eventually landed with the Cowboys on their practice squad. Both Brown and Brent played their college ball at Illinois.

[UPDATE]: Per Jerry Brown's Facebook, via a retweet from The Big Lead, he was looking forward to being a dad soon. So tragic.
From Clarence E. Hill of the Star-Telegram:
Per a source, Brent was returning from partying at Club Privae in Dallas and was traveling at a high rate of speed before losing control of his vehicle. When police arrived on the scene, Brent was responsive, the deceased was not. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police conducted a field sobriety test on Brent and also drew blood before taking him to jail.
