New Colts G.M. Ryan Grigson cut his teeth as a front office executive in Philadelphia before Jim Irsay poached him. Today, Grigson poached his first player from his former team, sort of.
Per PFT, the Colts have agreed to a trade with the Eagles for tackle Winston Justice. Justice was the 39th overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, selected by the Eagles when Grigson was their director of college scouting.
To get Justice, Indy and Philly simply swapped sixth round picks this year.
Acquiring Justice, a right tackle, suggests two things:
- Ryan Diem is unlikely to return
- Second year player Ben Ijalana, who Bill Polian always said was going to play RT, will likely move back to his more natural position of guard
With Justice on the right side and Anthony Castanzo playing left tackle, the offensive line for presumed first round pick Andrew Luck is starting to solidify nicely.
