The face clenching, F bomb dropping, blonde ambition known to some as "Chucky" (and to others as the often insufferably self-absorbed Jon Gruden) brings back his famous ESPN Quarterback Camp segments to your television this Friday.
Gruden’s first session is with Andrew Luck, and you can see it Friday night at 7:00 p.m. ET. On Monday, Robert Griffin III gets the Gruden treatment at 9:00 p.m. ET.
In the clip below, via ESPN's Front Row site, Gruden asks Luck to draw up, on a whiteboard, a play called "Green Right Slot Spider 2 Y Banana." Then, after going so, Luck has to breakdown what the play is, what it does, and who the No. 1 read is in language that, per the instructions from Gruden, isn't "too confusing."
I must admit, as annoying and utterly phoney as Gruden can sometimes be, his work in these special segments is extremely good. The man knows how to coach a quarterback, there's no doubt.
For Andrew Luck, the clip simply highlights how smart the kid is, and how he, in many ways, was an offensive coordinator at Stanford as well as a quarterback.
