We extend our sympathies to Stampede Blue reader Hetfield, who listed undrafted rookie DE Kevin Eagan as the most intriguing Colts player to watch this upcoming season, but the Endicott graduate won't be wearing the blue shoe in 2012.

According to Aaron Wilson, the Colts have waived Eagan after he left the team and, reportedly, is quitting football.

Eagan had an impressive career in college, earning 104 tackles, 23.0 tackles for a loss, and 8.5 sacks in his senior year. He also forced three fumbles, recovered three fumbles, and had three interceptions. Eagan was named the a BSN All-America Second Teamer, NEFC Boyd Division and ECAC DIII North Defensive Player of the Year, and All-New England by the New England Football Writers. The 6'4, 276 lbs Eagan was projected as a DE in Indianapolis' new 3-4 scheme.

Hey, it's better for Eagan and the team that he bail out now. He was a longshot to make the practice squad, let alone the 53-man roster.
