Austin Collie's 2012 season is over. The Colts' fourth year veteran wideout from BYU will be placed on injured reserve yesterday after he suffered a knee injury in Indianapolis' 22-17 meltdown loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star reported that the injury was a tear to Collie's patella tendon.
Not only does this end Collie's season in 2012, but it is likely the conclusion of his career with the Colts as well. Collie has sustained four concussions in two years, with his most recent one during the preseason this year against the Washington Redskins. He's also in the final year of his contract. With the injury factors, it's unlikely the Colts will re-sign Collie during the 2013 offseason.
The Colts plucked practice squad player Nathan Palmer from the 49ers yesterday to replace Collie.
For you fantasy nutball out there, look for Donnie Avery and rookie T.Y. Hilton to continue to get more balls thrown to them by Andrew Luck as the season progresses.
