Colts Place Chris Rainey On IR, Sign Tashard Choice

New, comments

Rainey's placement on IR is the fourth time a Colts running back has been lost for the season this year.

The Indianapolis Colts have placed running back/kick returner Chris Rainey on the season-ending injured reserve list and signed free agent running back Tashard Choice. Choice is a 6-year back drafted in the 4th round by the Dallas Cowboys in 2008. He last played for the Buffalo Bills.

Choice averaged 3.6 yards-per-carry with the Bills and played in 12 games before being released.

Rainey's placement on IR is the fourth time a Colts running back has been lost for the season this year. Ahmad Bradshaw, Vick Ballard, and Daniel "Boom" Herron are all out for the year as well, coping with various injuries.

Look for cornerback Cassius Vaughn to assume some of the duties at kick and punt returner now that Rainey is out.
