This is often the worst day of the year for us football fanatics: The first Sunday after the Super Bowl.
Things will rev up a bit more next weekend as people get ready for the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Players, coaches, and general managers will converge on Lucas Oil Stadium, and the interest and excitement for the 2013 season will begin to boil.
However, today, it just sucks.
For the first time in months, I literally have nothing on my schedule for today. Oh sure, I have house chores and other such nonsense highly important tasks assigned to me by my spouse, but there's no "12:00 PM- Meet Michael at the Studio" in my OneNote Planner.
Suck. Really, really sucks.
It's usually on days like today where I catch-up on email, or read-up a bit on college players. I spent more time this past college football season focusing on schemes and formations rather than individual players. As a result, I feel as though I don't know anyone outside Manti Te'o, Johnny Manziel, and Geno Smith. So, I'm catching up on guys like Jonathan Hankins, NT, from Ohio State, or wide receiver Keenan Allen from Cal.
If you all have recommendations for players you'd like to see Matt Grecco and his crew do draft profiles on, toss your thoughts in the comments below.
Don't worry. The crappiest Sunday in the football calendar year will be over soon, and we'll be right back to focusing on who the hell the Colts will draft in 2013.
