While I love my buddy Dan Kadar and will buy him chocolates every Valentine's Day, I must confess that sometimes I cheat on him when it comes to mock drafts. My backdoor man is WalterFootball.com, mainly because they are fairly accurate when it comes to predicting who the Colts will draft.
Example: Last year's WalterFootball.com mock, finalized just hours before the first round began, had the Colts taking Andrew Luck No. 1 overall (duh), Coby Fleener in round two (not bad), and T.Y. Hilton in round five (impressive).
Yes, WalterFootball.com does five round mocks, and is accurate to an impressive degree with them.
There most recent mock has the Colts picking the following players:
24. Indianapolis Colts: Jesse Williams, NT, Alabama
All the Colts have at nose tackle are journeyman Brandon McKinney, who is coming off a torn ACL, and 2012 fifth-rounder Josh Chapman, who has no pro experience. They could opt to give Chapman a shot at the starting gig, but they're probably better off spending a first-round pick on one of the three nose tackles expected to be available.
Pick change; previously Desmond Trufant, CB
86. Indianapolis Colts: Travis Frederick, G/C, Wisconsin
The Colts signed Gosder Cherilus, but they still need to find another upgrade on the interior of their offensive line. The weakest of Andrew Luck's blockers last year was right guard Mike McGlynn, who was guilty of four sacks in the final four games.Pick change; previously Corey Lemonier, DE/OLB
121. Indianapolis Colts: Cobi Hamilton, WR, Arkansas
Jim Irsay seemed drunk when he spent a weekend night posting song lyrics about acquiring a receiver. Unfortunately, nothing happened. Irsay might have to get a wideout in the draft instead.
Pick change; previously Alvin Bailey, G
If the Colts walked away from the 2013 NFL Draft with these three players, I'd feel pretty good.
